Starting at Bowcliffe Hall and after a lovely breakfast, 42 classic cars (predominantly E-Types & other classic Jaguars) set off on a spectacular 90 mile tour into the heart of the Yorkshire dales.
Passing through Bolton Abbey, Burnsall and Pateley Bridge the VIP’s & Special Guests stopped for lunch at the splendid Grantley Hall – a truly magical location. The remaining 35 miles flowed through Rippon and the quaint villages on the fringes of York back to Bowcliffe for afternoon tea.
The day finsihed with a wonderful evening Celebration Dinner with our guest speakers and overnight 4* accommodation.
Special Guests included Tony Jardine, Ian Callum, Amy Shore & Tony O’Keefe
The lawns at Bowcliffe were filled with 60 classic Jaguars to mark the special year of the E-Type. Pol Roger Champagne flowed and thankfully the weather was glorious. BBQ, Paella and good old Yorkshire Fish ‘n’ Chips were served throughout the afternoon to all the 300 or so guests.
The Concours winning trophy car went to magnificent early E-Type Chassis #55 Outside Bonnet Lock – thank you to our Judges Bob Beecham (JDC), Peter Neumark and Michael Wilkinson.
After interviews with Ian Callum, Tony O’Keefe and Stephen Owens/Jon Scott-Nelson the finale was the unveiling of the first of 9 early E-Types being restored by William Heynes, Grandson of the great Bill Heynes.
